Meet the Team
CrossCountry app was created by an Australian-based family, originally from Yorkshire, England. We live and work in the Hunter Valley & Blue Mountains, about an hour's drive from Sydney. CrossCountry app won the New South Wales Spatial Innovation Award.
Jose Diacono is manager, networker, tester and first level support. She has worked with mapping technology for over 30 years. She has volunteered on Horse Trials committees, as a Pony Club Chief Instructor, and equestrian Team Liaison officer at the Sydney Olympics. Jose loves eventing at a low level with her young mare Mila, riding out in the bush on retiree Fitz and keeping the horses fit.
James Diacono is our lead
programmer. He enjoys playing music, rock climbing and is a committed and
enthusiastic contributor to the Open Source software community. James mentors
IT students through the University of Newcastle.
Helen Diacono events at 3*
with her ex racehorse Lola. She is our designer and chief product strategist.
Helen spent a gap year working in a professional eventing yard as Groom/Rider
before graduating with First Class Honours in Industrial Design from the
University of Technology Sydney (UTS) where she lectured for several years.
She worked with one of Australia's leading companies as a User Experience (UX)
Designer and now undertakes freelance app design projects.
Jill Martin represents us in Great
Britain. Jill has followed and supported our sport in the UK, Australia and
Europe for many years as a volunteer and owner, regularly traveling to events
around the UK and Europe. Please say hello when you see her, and feel free to
ask any questions you may have about CrossCountry app.
Bonnie LaMonte represents us in the
USA and Canada. Bonnie is a vet who you will often see at Horse Trials and
Pony Club, either in an official role or volunteering. A former event rider,
Bonnie is now breeding the next generation of eventing superstars.
Phil Diacono is responsible for our
systems reliability and performance, making sure it is secure and able to cope
with the huge peaks of Badminton and Olympic views. Phil was formerly a
systems performance expert with HP (Hewlett Packard.)
